Be’Jan Edmonds started working at The Immigration Project in October of 2022 as a Senior Staff Attorney. She enjoys working for the organization because it allows her to continue her passion for helping immigrants apply for affirmative based asylum. Be’Jan is originally from Gary, IN. She attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate degree and then went on to attend Marquette University Law School.
Before coming to TIP, Be’Jan started her law career as an Assistant City Attorney. After working in that position, she transitioned to pursuing her passion in practicing immigration law. This passion was discovered during her second year of law school when she began volunteering at free legal clinics though her school. Be’Jan also worked as an immigration attorney in New York where she represented immigrants in removal proceedings. In addition to this, she worked as an immigration attorney in Connecticut where she filed affirmative asylum applications for Afghans.
In her free time, Be’Jan loves to watch movies, spend time with her siblings, and travel.
