Portrait of Christie Mulami Masanka.

Christie Mulami Masanka was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She immigrated to the United States at age sixteen to rejoin her father under the family reunification program. Years later, in 2018, thanks to the help of the Immigration Project, she was able to obtain a green card.

While living in the United States, she went on to pursue legal education and now works as an Intellectual Property lawyer at Holland and Knight, LLP. Throughout her journey, she came to fully understand how the Immigration Project’s work can positively impact communities by providing efficient representation to many in need of legal representation. This is why she decided to join the board and further advance the mission of the organization.

Christie has been serving the community through this work since June 2021 and is forever thankful for the incredible staff at TIP and all the work that they do. Being part of this mission is a way not to only thank those who helped her family in their journey, but also to contribute to the essential task of providing affordable legal representation in the complex sector that is Immigration Law.
