Jomo Sankara is an accounting professor and the COB Director of Business Sustainability at Illinois State University, where he mainly teaches management accounting. He obtained his PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in accounting and his Master of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. His research focuses on the quality of financial reporting as well as sustainability reporting.

Jomo was born in England and spent years going through the immigration process. This experience piqued his interest in immigration causes. Before joining Illinois State University, he worked as an accountant and financial analyst at several companies including Amoco Oil Company (now BP) and Sema Group. Jomo is married with two children.
