Judayne Castillo

Portrait of Judayne Castillo.

Judayne is from Barquisimeto, Venezuela. She was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, but she raised, studied and started a family in Barquisimeto, a beautiful city in the middle of the country. She has been in the US since June 2018. She came for vacations, the longest vacation of her entire life.

Judyayne has a bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting. She worked in the pharmaceutical business for 12 years. Following this, she worked as a teacher of accounting in Yacambu University for 7 years.

She lives in Normal with her family. Her first job in the US was at a restaurant, similar to many other immigrants. In 2020, the pandemic brought her good things. She was hired as a teaching assistant at Normal Community High School, and at the end of the year, she started a part time in Immigration Project. She started working at TIP as a Bilingual Traveling Caseworker.

In August 2022, she resigned from her position in NCHS. She is happy and sad at the same time. Because in school she helped immigrant kiddos. She misses them a lot. Now, she can help their whole family! She feels grateful about that.
