Adrienne Yasunaga joined The Immigration Project in 2021. Previously, Adrienne was a staff attorney at the New York City office of Kids in Need of Defense, where she provided direct representation to unaccompanied refugee and migrant children and mentored pro bono counsel. Adrienne brings over ten years of experience as a federal employee. She was a term and then career law clerk to a federal Magistrate Judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and served as an asylum officer and assistant chief counsel with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Adrienne received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School (2008), and her undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2002, Bronze Tablet). She is a native of Urbana.
