Improving lives and fostering civic engagement in communities is the central focus of AmeriCorps, a network of national service programs. Members commit their time to address important community needs such as increasing academic achievement, mentoring youth, fighting poverty, sustaining national parks, preparing for disasters, and other community priorities.

AmeriCorps VISTA members serve full time for 1 full year at a community organization (e.g. nonprofit, college/university, local government office) on anti-poverty projects. At the Immigration Project, our AmeriCorps VISTAs are on staff to assist in targeted projects serving our community.
