Sarah Mellor was born in Bloomington, IL and despite a love of international travel and service abroad, she is proud to still call that diverse community home. She earned her Bachelor’s in Spanish in 2007 from Illinois State University. As a former high school English as a Second Language and Bilingual Education teacher, Sarah enjoys seeing teens overcome obstacles; linguistic, cultural, educational, legal, and otherwise. She joined The Immigration Project in 2020, excited to shift her focus to connecting with adults and families in downstate Illinois. Enchanted by all things electronic, she earned her Master’s in Curriculum Technology from Illinois State University and hopes that virtual education tools such as webinars will provide greater access to immigration information for people of the future. In her free time, Sarah enjoys cycling and international cuisine, (not simultaneously).
