The Immigration Project

Portrait of Veronica Torres Luna.

Veronica recently joined The Immigration Project as a Caseworker in the Welcoming Center. Her enthusiasm to work with marginalized communities brought her to this organization to be an advocate for those that lack access to social services and to empower them to be active members of the community. Veronica was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and immigrated to the United States at the age of 10. She hopes that with her story, her clients will be able to identify with her and trust her throughout the process of applying and receiving services with TIP and the wider McLean County community. Veronica received her B.A. from Illinois Wesleyan University in Political Science in 2018. She hopes to affect positive and meaningful change in the lives of the Welcoming Center’s clients.
